Have you ever considered how beneficial it would be for there to be a nonprofit benefiting other nonprofits? That's exactly the mission of Serve Denton located off Loop 288 in Denton. They are the nonprofit's nonprofit, partnering with local nonprofits to make their services more accessible for people in need.

As we sat down with Executive Director, Carlie Kuban, it became clear to us how beneficial this model really is, both for the nonprofits and for those they serve.

It is rare that someone needs to be served by just one nonprofit. More often than not, they need access to several nonprofits. And the travel alone to all of those various locations would cost an abundance of time and money. Serve Denton's nonprofit center expands community resources and creates an all-in-one location for the residents of Denton County who are in need of these nonprofits' services.

This campus is a place where nonprofits can come to work together to meet the needs of the community while paying significantly lower rent compared to commercial office space. That allows more of their money to be given straight to the people who need it most.

And the Serve Denton Center is beautiful. The 32,500 square foot building is located on five acres of land and has four phases currently in development, with a fifth phase in the conceptualization phase. The current phases include an affordable health clinic operated by Health Services of North Texas; a child abuse resource center operated by Children's Advocacy Center; and a food distribution center operated by Denton Community Food Center.

Once all of the phases of the project are complete, it is estimated that Serve Denton's campus will be able to serve over 16,000 individuals in our communities.

How can you help move this project along? Serve Denton is currently running a capital campaign to raise funds for the project. You can donate via their website as a one-time donation or a regular donation, such as a monthly donation.

We were truly inspired by the vision Serve Denton has for the residents and nonprofits of Denton County and are anxious to see the work that they do in our communities as their campus is completed.
