APRIL 1: Crime Prevention Presentation
When: Monday, April 1, 7:00 p.m.

What: Join Flower Mound Police Department for a presentation on personal safety and crime prevention.
APRIL 6: Storytime in the Park: A Special Storytime at Heritage Park
When: Saturday, April 6, 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Where: Heritage Park, 600 Spinks Road, Flower Mound, TX, 75028
What: Bring a blanket or chairs and join us at the StoryWalk® at Heritage Park, located next to the Heritage Springs Splash Pad. We'll share stories and songs, then take a stroll around the StoryWalk®. This event is for children of all ages and their caregivers. Registration is not required.
APRIL 7: Holi Festival
When: Sunday, April 7, 2 p.m.
Where: Heritage Park, 600 Spinks Road, Flower Mound, TX, 75028
What: The Town, in partnership with the Denton County India Cultural Association, is hosting the annual Holi Festival this spring. Experience the meaning behind the many colors of India's Holi Festival. From red to green to indigo, each color provides festival-goers with a sense of beauty, ritual and tradition. Don't miss the chance to enjoy the throwing of colors, music, dancing and food.

APRIL 8: The Great Eclipse
When: Monday, April 8, Starting at approximately 1:35 p.m. depending on your location

What: Without even leaving home, you can be part of this once-in-a lifetime opportunity. DFW won’t be in the path of totality again until 2317. DFW is the largest metropolitan area in the path of totality and there are lots of ways to be part of this.

From www.eclipse2024.org we learn that Kaufman will be on the centerline. But just about anywhere in the metroplex works. Here is a list of some timings you can count on:

April 8: Total Eclipse of the Mound
When: Monday, April 8, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Twin Coves Park, 5001 Wichita Trail, Flower Mound, TX, 75022
What: Did you know the last total eclipse in the Flower Mound area was on July 29, 1878? The Total Eclipse of the Mound is back 146 years later! Head to Twin Coves Park for a day of BBQ, snacks and activities and to experience the peak time of the solar eclipse at 1:40 p.m. Activities are free with paid entry into Twin Coves.

April 8: Lewisville SOLARbration
When: Monday, April 8, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Wayne Ferguson Plaza, 150 W. Church St., Lewisville, TX, 75057
What: Attendees at this free, family-friendly event will enjoy an eclipse-worthy concert, featuring Legacy House Band and Texas Floyd — A Tribute to Pink Floyd, fun and games from Play Lewisville On Wheels and food choices from several local restaurants. Solar eclipse glasses will be provided, and there will be promotional giveaways.
Free event parking will be available at Lewisville City Hall, 151 W. Church Street; Visitor Information Center, 247 W. Main Street; Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street; and on-street parking.

April 8: Cooking Up Culture: Indian Food
When: Monday, April 8, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

What: Travel around the world in this program, featuring cooking demonstrations that showcase the diversity of tastes and cultures in Flower Mound! Learn about the cultural significance of a popular Indian dish while learning to cook a delicious meal. Samples will be provided and registration is required.

April 16: Flower Mound Philharmonic Orchestra Concert
When: Tuesday, April 16, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Flower Mound Public Library, 3030 Broadmoor Lane, Flower Mound, TX, 75022
What: Join us for a concert performed by the Flower Mound Philharmonic Orchestra, an ensemble of the Flower Mound Community Orchestra. This family-friendly event will feature pieces fitting the theme "A Finale Across the Pond." Registration is not required to attend.

April 21: Sink or Sail Regatta
When: Sunday, April 21, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Flower Mound Community Activity Center Indoor Pool, 1200 Gerault Road, Flower Mound, TX, 75028
What: This competition will test your engineering skills. Individual participants or teams of two will have an hour and a half to construct and decorate a sea-worthy vessel using only CAC provided supplies. All assembled products will be tested in a final race against the CAC’s indoor pool. One person from each team must sail across the waters (25 yards) without sinking. Prizes will be awarded to the top three fastest crafts that make a successful voyage. Individuals 13 and under will require a parent/guardian to register as their partner. Each team member must register.
April 22: The Changing Climate in Your Backyard
When: Monday, April 22, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Flower Mound Public Library, 3030 Broadmoor Lane, Flower Mound, TX, 75022
What: How is the changing climate affecting the way we garden in North Texas? CBS News Meteorologist Jeff Ray shows how the weather is changing in your backyard. Registration is required.

April 27: Kid Fish
When: Sunday, April 27, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Where: Rheudasil Park, 2401 Lake Forest Blvd, Flower Mound, TX, 75028
What: The Rheudasil Park pond will be stocked with more than 500 pounds of catfish for this free kids fishing event. Prizes and awards will be given in several categories. Rod, reel and bait are provided, or you can bring your own!
April 27: Lewisville ColorPalooza
When: Sunday, April 27, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Old Town Lewisville, 2 W. Main St., Lewisville, TX, 75057
What: ColorPalooza is designed to showcase the rich cultural, artistic and eco-friendly spirit of Lewisville. Attendees will experience a day of creativity, education and interactive art activities and displays.
