Foodie Friday DFW: Boston-Style Mazzola's Pizzeria in Flower Mound
Flower Mound has been abuzz ever since Mazzola's Pizzeria opened up at the end of March! This Boston-style pizzeria and bakery has quickly become notorious for serving up incredible pizzas, coffee, and baked goods (most notably, their scones!).
Owner, Erik Stenson, created the restaurant by modeling it after his Uncle Joe's well-known Boston pizza shop and bakery called Mazzola Brothers Bakery. Everything in the restaurant is scratch-made using the best of ingredients. They've designed the menu to incorporate the traditional Italian influences Erik grew up with as well as some unique healthy creations for today's busy lifestyles.
Many of the items on their menu are shareable in true Italian fashion so that the whole family can enjoy their meal together. But they have lots of individual items to make it easy for their customers to enjoy their food on-the-go as well.
Mazzola's is open to feed their customers morning, afternoon, and night. You can stop in starting at 6 am to pick up a breakfast pastry and a cup of coffee, or you can come with the whole family in the evening to enjoy a fantastic dinner.
When we visited Erik, he showed us how they create their popular Carne Pizza which comes topped with pepperoni, sausage, brisket, roasted peppers, pepperoncini, red sauce, and a blend of cheeses. It's unlike any pizza you've had before because they prepare all of the ingredients the "Mazzola Way."
At Mazzola's, you're not just getting a pizza. You're getting a true culinary creation unlike anything else you'll find around here. So go check them out if you haven't already - for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
*Mazzola's Italian Pizzeria is located at 1913 Justin Rd, Flower Mound TX 75028. Click here to view their menu.
